Raye apologises for “completely unacceptable” error by Ticketmaster at Paris concert

Raye has publicly apologised to a group of fans who were denied entry to her concert in Paris despite having official Ticketmaster tickets.

On February 15th, 65 ticket holders were stranded outside of Raye’s concert at Accor Arena, despite having gone through official, verified channels to purchase their tickets.

After Raye’s team shared the news with the singer-songwriter, she took to her Instagram Stories to address the blunder.

She began, “I am completely devastated for the 65 ticket holders who were turned down from entering our Paris show on Sunday night. This is completely unacceptable and wrong.”

Raye then relayed the information she had been given, that there was a “system error” at Ticketmaster, which led to 65 tickets not being “fully validated when they were purchased.”

Though clarifying that this issue was “outside of anything I could control,” the artist admitted that she felt “saddened and let down” by the error.

Though those impacted by the mistake have been offered a full refund and given a voucher from Ticketmaster, Raye went one step further: “I’d like to offer all of these 65 people who didn’t get into the show complimentary tickets to any Raye future show of their choice and a signed vinyl. You will be contacted shortly about this.”

She added, “I know this doesn’t even remotely make up for this mess, but it’s all I can think of in this moment to soften the blow,” before signing off, “My deepest apologies to those of you affected.”

Writing to Rolling Stone, Ticketmaster also acknowledged the mistake, clarifying that a “small number of fans experienced a technical issue when entering the show.” The rep continued, “While we know it doesn’t replace the show, we have fully refunded those affected and provided a gift card.”

Ticketmaster has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons as of late. Olivia Dean deemed the organisation, along with Live Nation and AEG, “disgusting” in response to “vile” resale ticket prices.
