Rapper Yung Filly pleads not guilty in sexual assault case

British rapper Yung Filly has pleaded not guilty to the plethora of sexual assault charges against him in an Australian case.

The rapper and Youtuber, real name Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, appeared before Perth Magistrates Court in Western Australia on March 11th, charged with multiple counts of sexual assault, which allegedly took place while he was touring the region last year.

Barrientos denied the eight charges against him – court documents revealed that these consisted of three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, one of strangulation, and four counts of sexual penetration without consent. He will now appear before Perth’s higher district court in June.

The member of the Beta Squad YouTube collective had been on bail since October 2024 after allegedly assaulting a young woman in a hotel room on September 28th, after his concert at a venue in the Hillarys area of Perth.

Barrientos had risen to fame by combining his rapping and social media work with regular television appearances on BBC Three and Channel 4 in recent years.

He was also the recipient of a Mobo Award in 2021 for ‘Best Media Personality’.
