Radiohead are considering taking legal action against Lana Del Rey over copyright infringement, it has been claimed.
The reports come as fans draw comparisons between Lana Del Rey’s track ‘Get Free’ and Radiohead’s well-known single ‘Creep’.
Del Rey’s track is currently credited to Lana, Kieron Menzies and Rick Nowels.
According to The Sun: “both teams are trying to thrash it out behind the scenes to prevent it going to court.”
The source adds: “It’s understood that Radiohead’s team are hoping for the band to either receive compensation or be credited on the list of songwriters to receive royalties.”
On top of the legal issues, fans of both artists have made their feelings clear in the comments of the track, one says: “Really love Lana Del Rey but this song like ‘Creep’ from Radiohead,” before another user adds: “I think the melody might be inspired by it and similar, but it’s definitely not a complete rip off. They are two completely different songs.”
“This is a carbon copy of Radiohead ‘Creep’! And that’s why it’s good…,” the comparisons continue.
Blimey, what do you think?
