Radiohead members form new LTD company
All five members of Radiohead have been appointed as directors of a new UK company called Futile Endeavours Limited, which could indicate that the band has something new on the horizon.
When a band forms a new LTD company, it is a keen indicator of yet-to-be-announced business activities, such as an album reissue, tour or potentially a new record.
With Futile Endeavours Limited, Radiohead has therefore established a new formal entity through which they can operate as a unified business.
While this does not confirm any specific announcement, historically, Radiohead has created similar corporate structures in preparation for different phases of band activity.
In March last year, Radiohead’s later residency tour was prognosticated when they formed the new LLP, RHEUK2025. We now understand that this stands for “Radiohead Europe [and] United Kingdom 2025,” in reference to their residencies in Madrid, Bologna, London, Copenhagen, and Berlin.
Additionally, Thom Yorke and Johnny Greenwood’s band, The Smile, previously formed Self Help Tapes LLP shortly before announcing their debut album in 2022. Radiohead also founded Dawn Chorus LLP before embarking upon A Moon Shaped Pool in 2016, Xurbia Xendless Ltd before In Rainbows, Ticker Tape LTD before The King of Limbs and Spin With A Grin before Kid A Mnesia.
As per the government website, the verification checks for Yorke, Colin Greenwood, Philip Selway, and Ed O’Brien were completed on different dates in January 2026, while Jonny Greenwood’s were completed in November 2027.
In a recent interview, Jonny admitted that he found it “strange” not to be playing “anything new” on the recent tour. He added, “I guess we are all doing new music elsewhere now, so that’s where our creative energies are going.”
When asked specifically whether a new Radiohead album is likely, he seemed unsure: “I have no idea. I mean, I’m surprised that the tour actually happened and that we all enjoyed it so much. But venues get booked so far in advance. To do another, we would have to decide now, and even then it wouldn’t happen for 18 months.”
When announcing Radiohead’s first tour in seven years, the band continued with this air of mystery, sharing at the time, “For now, it will just be these [live dates], but who knows where this will all lead.”
As it stands, while a new company has been registered, it remains to be seen what this means for the future of Radiohead.
