Radiohead announce resale details after UK and European tickets sell out

After their upcoming European and UK tour sold out, Radiohead have announced a resale date for fans still hoping to get their hands on tickets.

The performances will be their first since 2018. The tour will see the iconic band play four dates in Bologna, Madrid, London, Copenhagen, and Berlin. To gain access to the first batch of tickets, fans had to register before 10pm on September 7th.

This is a slightly unfamiliar process for live music fans, but one that Radiohead implemented to prevent touting. Fans gained access to a code that allowed them the opportunity to buy tickets; plus, they could only purchase a maximum of four tickets for a single date.

As expected, the tickets promptly sold out. Now, the band has announced that tickets will be available on resale via their Instagram story shortly after the tickets sell out. They wrote, “A few more tickets may be released to registered fans at a later date.”

They then reiterated their strong condemnation of exploitative ticket touts, writing, “Please don’t be tempted to buy from third-party ticketing platforms. Those tickets are not real.”

Consequently, it appears that the only way to be in with a chance of a ticket is to have registered before September 7th. The official resale will begin on October 13th.

The band’s Philip Selway commented on what these shows might mean for the future of the band. sharing: “Last year, we got together to rehearse, just for the hell of it. After a seven year pause, it felt really good to play the songs again and reconnect with a musical identity that has become lodged deep inside all five of us.”

He continued: “It also made us want to play some shows together, so we hope you can make it to one of the upcoming dates. For now, it will just be these ones but who knows where this will all lead.”
