Quentin Tarantino reveals he “can’t stand” Owen Wilson

Quentin Tarantino has revealed his disdain for Owen Wilson, stating that he “can’t stand” the actor.

Tarantino recently appeared on The Bret Easton Ellis Podcast to reveal his 20 favourite movies of the 21st century so far, including one film that stars Wilson in most scenes.

The movie in question is Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris, released in 2011, which, despite his dislike for Wilson, Tarantino ranked as the tenth best movie since 2000.

“I really can’t stand Owen Wilson,” he said to Easton Ellis, before reiterating his stance, adding, “I mean, I can’t stand him.”

“I spent the first time watching the movie loving it and hating him,” he also said of Wilson. Tarantino harshly continued, “The second time I watched the movie, I was like, ‘Ah, okay, don’t be such a prick. He’s not so bad. He’s not so bad.’ And then the third time I watched it, I found myself watching him.”

Wilson is yet to respond to Tarantino’s comments.

The Inherent Vice actor isn’t the only person in his field to feature in one of Tarantino’s most beloved movies for whom the director possesses a hatred. He also brutally slammed Paul Dano for his performance in There Will Be Blood.

Although he placed it in fifth, Tarantino admitted, “There Will Be Blood would stand a good chance at being one or two if it didn’t have a big, giant flaw in it … and the flaw is Paul Dano.”

He added of Dano, “Obviously, it’s supposed to be a two-hander, but it’s also drastically obvious that it’s not a two-hander.”

Tarantino continued, “He is weak sauce, man. He’s a weak sister. Austin Butler would have been wonderful in that role. [Dano is] just such a weak, weak, uninteresting guy. The weakest fucking actor in SAG [Screen Actors Guild].”

Similarly to Wilson, Dano is yet to respond.
