Pulp send “important message” to fans attending arena tour

With Pulp‘s upcoming UK and Ireland tour starting later this week, Jarvis Cocker has issued a warning to fans attending the shows.

The tour is set to kick off on June 7th at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow before heading across the water to Dublin for a concert at the 3Arena. Then, they will play two concerts at the O2 Arena in London and the Utilita Live in Birmingham before concluding at the Co-op Live in Manchester on June 21st.

In an update to fans, Cocker has explained that it will be a special series of performances unlike anything they’ve done before and seemingly won’t involve a support band. He explained: “The Pulp tour starts in two days’ time. These shows are special, extended performances – with an interval. So the important message is: ARRIVE EARLY.”

Cocker continued on Instagram: “The shows will start at 8pm. You don’t want to miss any of what is behind these curtains. More is near.”

He also signed his post with the hashtags, “The early bird catches the worm” and “More than you could have imagined”.

On June 6th, a day before the tour kicks off, they will release their new album, More, their first full-length release in over decades.

Upon announcing the album, Cocker revealed they made it over a three-week period with celebrated producer James Ford late last year, he explained, “This is the shortest amount of time a Pulp album has ever taken to record. It was obviously ready to happen.”

In a four-and-a-half-star review of More, Far Out wrote: “This isn’t a comeback album that just reheats the past. Sure, there is a lot of nostalgia at play here as the band interacts with their own past and youth in a deeply playful and celebratory way, but it doesn’t get bogged down there. Instead, it really delivers more: more energy, more intrigue, more cinematic builds, more wit, more heart, more soul, more.”
