Pulp announce huge date as “only major UK headline show” for 2026

Pulp have announced a huge date in Manchester as their “only major UK headline show” for 2026.

The iconic Sheffield band took to social media on November 17th to announce that they would be headed to Wythenshawe Park in Manchester on August 28th, 2026, in what they said “is likely to be our only major UK headline concert” for the year.

The band are set to be joined in the supporting slot by Self Esteem, who had previously been announced for the night, while they added in the announcement post that further acts will be revealed for the bill at a later date.

Pulp’s triumphant return to the UK next summer comes after a seismic year in 2025, in which they returned to the top of the tree with their first new album in some 24 years, More.

It became an instant critical success, with the band embarking on a UK headline tour last summer before taking on a mysterious surprise set on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury in June. Most recently, More also saw them nominated for the coveted Mercury Prize.

However, the Britpop icons are plowing full steam ahead into 2026, as on top of their newly-announced date at Wythenshawe Park, they are also set to head Down Under for a string of six dates in Australia and New Zealand at the start of the year.

After celebrating the 30th anniversary of their seminal 1995 album Different Class at the end of October, Pulp recently honoured the occasion by performing a career-spanning Tiny Desk Concert for NPR.

They certainly took the audience on a whistlestop tour of some of their greatest hits and eras, performing a selection of songs including ‘This is Hardcore’, ‘Something Changed’, ‘A Sunset’, and ‘Acrylic Afternoons’.

Tickets for Pulp’s show at Wythenshawe Park in Manchester will go on general sale from November 21st at 10am local time, while fans wishing to access presale can sign up to the band’s newsletter and buy tickets from November 19th at 10am.
