
‘Pulp Fiction’ actor Peter Greene dead aged 60
Peter Greene, the actor famed for playing villains in the likes of Pulp Fiction and The Mask, has passed away at the age of 60.
The star passed away on December 12th. He was found dead in his Manhattan apartment, his manager, Gregg Edwards, has shared with Deadline. Currently, the cause of death is unknown.
Praising the actor, his manager deemed him “one of the best character actors on the planet.” He also shared that Greene was “passionate about shedding light on all the deaths that have happened around the world as a result of America dismantling USAID.”
Edwards continued, “He was a good friend who would give you the shirt off his back. He was loved and will be missed.”
Greene was born in New Jersey in 1965. He made his screen acting debut on the NBC crime drama series Hardball, though the series was short-lived.
He then made his feature debut in the 1992 film Laws of Gravity, starring opposite Edie Falco. After this, things quickly picked up; he headlined the film Clean, Shaven in 1993, which screened at the Cannes Film Festival in 1994.
Greene had a huge year in 1994. He played the iconic villain Zed in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction, which won the Palme d’Or at that year’s Cannes Film Festival. The character actor also played the main antagonist, Dorian Tyrell, opposite seasoned actor Jim Carrey in The Mask.
Other films Greene has starred in include Kiss & Tell, Blue Streak, End Game, and The Bounty Hunter. His most recent film, titled Little Dixie, is an American crime thriller starring Frank Grillo and Eric Dane.
Over in the world of television, Greene was a series regular on the NBC drama series The Black Donnellys. He also recurred on ABC’s Life on Mars and NBC’s Chicago P.D.
Greene is survived by a brother and a sister, who have now been notified of his passing.
