Primavera 2026: Anna Von Hausswolff set cancelled following “serious health emergency”

Swedish singer-songwriter Anna Von Hausswolff has cancelled her appearance at Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona, after experiencing a “sudden and serious health emergency”.

The 39-year-old performer, whose latest album Iconoclasts hit the shelves in 2025, is now “at home recovering and will need more time before she is back to full strength”.

The announcement came by way of the festival’s official Instagram Story; Primavera organisers added that “a number of shows have had to be cancelled, including her appearance at Primavera Sound this weekend”.

The statement concluded, “We are deeply sorry to everyone who was planning to be there”.

The ‘Struggle with the Beast’ singer was set to perform at the Auditori Rockdelux at 21:00, but will no longer make an appearance for the crowds gathering in Spain.

The star’s unfortunate illness represents another stroke of bad luck for the coveted festival, after a yellow storm warning, winds and rain plunged the first day of the festival into chaos, with refunds being issued to Thursday day ticketholders.

Unfortunately for the approximately 71,000 fans on the ground, severe downpours and strong winds in the city led to the majority of the night’s headline performances being cancelled.

Alex G and Mac DeMarco were among the first of the day to face cancellation; headliners Massive Attack and Doja Cat subsequently found their sets cancelled, with both performers releasing statements sharing their “devastation” and “frustration” at the matter.

Since the unfortunate start, festival organisers shared a statement which read, in part, “We understand and share the frustration and disappointment of the audience regarding this situation, which is not what we had hoped for on the first day of Primavera Sound Barcelona 2026″.

Primavera is set to continue throughout the weekend, hoping performers like PinkPantheress, Addison Rae, The Cure, Gorillaz and My Bloody Valentine can turn things around.
