Plans for new TV series re-imagining cult 1987 horror comedy 'The Lost Boys'

A pilot has been ordered by The CW Television Network for the potential re-imagining of cult 1987 horror comedy The Lost Boys.

Joel Schumacher’s original film, about two brothers who move to California and end up fighting a gang of young vampires, starred the likes of  Jason Patric, Corey Haim, Kiefer Sutherland, Corey Feldman and more.

Now, Warner Bros. Television are attempting to bring the cult film to the TV screens in a modern take on the classic.

It is believed that Heather Mitchell has been recruited to write and executive produce the project. On top of that, Rob Thomas and Dan Etheridge of Spondoolie Productions be brought in alongside the likes of Mike Karz and Bill Bindley who have created numerous successful projects for Gulfstream Television. Rebecca Franko will also join the producing team.

Fans of the original film will be hopeful that Mitchell will be able to recreate the superb score which was originally created by Thomas Newman. With the likes of Echo & the Bunnymen and Roger Daltrey combined with Newman’s eerie orchestral sounds, the soundtrack will still be etched in the memory of The Lost Boys fanatics.
