PJ Harvey to score new film adaptation 'All About Eve'

It has been revealed that PJ Harvey will score a new play entitled All About Eve.

The play, a stage adaptation of the 1950 film of the same name, will be directed by Ivo Van Hove and will star the likes of Gillian Anderson and Lily James. The play will premiere in February at London’s Noël Coward Theatre.

The original 50s film, an American drama film, was based on the 1946 short story The Wisdom of Eve written by Mary Orr. With the 14 Academy Award nominations upon its release, the film went on to claim the prestigious Best Picture award and starred Bette Davis as Margo Channing – a role that will be played by Gillian Anderson for the theatre production.

For PJ Harvey, this work marks her fourth major theatre score. In 2009 Harvey worked on Broadway show Hedda Gabler. Following that she joined 2011 adaptation of Hamlet in London. Franz Xaver Kroetz’s 2016 show The Nest was her last work in this field.
