PinkPantheress set for acting debut alongside Matt Damon and Sandra Oh

London alternative pop star PinkPantheress is set to branch out into a new industry after announcing her acting debut in a new film by directorial duo The Daniels.

The 25-year-old, whose real name is Victoria Beverley Walker, will appear in the untitled film helmed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert.

The filmmaking duo is best known for writing and directing Swiss Army Man, starring Daniel Radcliffe in 2016, and the sprawling Everything Everywhere All at Once, starring Michelle Yeoh and Jamie Lee Curtis, in 2022.

As per Deadline, the ‘Stateside’ hitmaker now joins a star-studded line-up that includes Matt Damon, Sandra Oh, Charles Melton, Sean Kaufman, Silvia Dionicio, Jackson Kelly, Kerrice Brooks, Thalia Dudek and Michael Gandolfini.

The so-far untitled film will be released on November 19th, 2027. All other details are being kept under wraps; however, it has been reported that Ryan Gosling recently exited the movie due to scheduling conflicts.

Walker began her music career in 2021, quickly gaining hordes of internet followers through the snippets of R&B and garage-influenced pop songs that she would recently. For a time, the star remained anonymous.

Since then, the performer has shot into the big leagues with collaborations with the likes of Kylie Minogue, Yves, Zara Larsson, Rachel Chinouriri, Kaytranada, Jade, and Ravyn Lenae.

Earlier this year, the young star made history after becoming both the first woman and the youngest person to win the prestigious Producer of the Year award at the Brits since the category was established in 1977.

She also took home two Grammy nominations this year, for ‘Best Dance Pop Recording’ for her hit single ‘Illegal’, and ‘Best Dance/Electronic Album’ for Fancy That.

Amid the exciting new update in her career, the star has been keeping busy with festival performances such as Primavera Sound in Barcelona and Open’er in Poland.

Plenty of global popstars have announced their pivot onto the screen in the last year; Billie Eilish has reportedly been tapped up as the lead in a new film adaptation of The Bell Jar, while Charli XCX and Gracie Abrams have also landed on-screen roles.
