Pearl Jam share animated video for 'Retrograde' featuring Greta Thunberg

Pearl Jam have shared the animated video for ‘Retrograde’, taken from their latest album Gigaton and features a cameo from Greta Thunberg.

The video sees the band link up with director Josh Wakely who is the mastermind behind the Netflix animated series Beat Bugs and Motown Magic. The animated clip for the track begins with a lone traveller driving through the rain and descending upon a strip mall.

The traveller then visits a psychic, the protagonist witnesses the destruction of the world in a crystal ball as the seas overtake the Eiffel Tower in Paris, London Bridge in London, as well as Pearl Jam’s native Seattle.

Animated versions of Eddie Vedder, Stone Gossard, Mike McCready, Jeff Ament, and Matt Cameron who then step out of their respect tarot cards and into a march with climate change activist Greta Thunberg then appears behind the crystal ball as a clairvoyant.

The Seattle stadium rockers were due to take over London this summer with a huge headline show booked in at Hyde Park on July 10th with Pixies booked in to support. However, due to the current ongoing global situation, this show has sadly been cancelled meaning UK fans will have to wait a little while longer to catch Pearl Jam on these shores.
