The ALL-IN challenge has been sweeping across the entertainment industry of late as stars continue to offer up once-in-a-lifetime experiences to the highest bidder in an auction to benefit a host of charities fighting hunger during COVID-19.
Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam are the latest to throw their own prize into the pile as, after being nominated by Laura Dern, Vedder shared they would allow one lucky fan to write a setlist for one of their shows.
For a Pearl Jam fan, a band who has such a deep back catalogue, the chance to write your own setlist for the band to perform is surely too tempting to resist. Two people will get to watch the group soundcheck before sitting down with Vedder and running through your preferred rarities.
After that, it’s time to sit back and enjoy your very own personalised show from some of the best seats in the house. It gets better. For the second half of the set you’ll be side stage where you will act as Vedder’s guitar tech before being serenaded on stage. While Vedder suggests it should be on your birthday, it could really be any day.
“For at least one song, I’d like to have you onstage right where I stand in the middle there — or six feet away,” Vedder says in the video shared yesterday, “but to be up there and hear the stage sound and be surrounded by these great musicians at loud volume.”
“Even just to stand in front of the great drummer Matt Cameron, directly in front of him, is a true thrill. You’ll feel some vibrations that are maybe ones you haven’t felt before. They’re ones that I’m lucky enough to feel all the time.”
To top it off, you’ll walk away with a signed Fender Telecaster and go home to think about how lucky you are. It’s truly the greatest gift any Pearl Jam could receive.
