Pearl Jam make first performance of 2020 with ‘Dance of the Clairvoyants’
Pearl Jam delivered their first live ‘performance’ of 2020 with a livestreamed rendition of ‘Dance of the Clairvoyants’.
The band, who are reeling from the effects of the pandemic, have been forced to put all touring plans on hold following the much-celebrated release of their most recent album Gigaton.
The new material arrived as the eagerly anticipated follow-up to 2013’s effort Lightning Bolt and, on it, featured lead single ‘Dance of the Clairvoyants’—a track the band performed at the All in Wa COVID-19 fundraiser.
“Making this record was a long journey,” Mike McCready said in a statement about the album. “It was emotionally dark and confusing at times, but also an exciting and experimental road map to musical redemption.
“Collaborating with my bandmates on Gigaton ultimately gave me greater love, awareness and knowledge of the need for human connection in these times.”
For now though, with live music nothing but a distant dream, allow Pearl Jam to offer an alternative take.
