‘Paul McCartney: Man on the Run’ set for one-night-only cinematic release
The new documentary, Paul McCartney: Man on the Run, is set to arrive in cinemas for one night only.
The film explores McCartney’s life and career as he built himself up once again throughout the 1970s, following the demise of The Beatles, as well as charting the rise of Wings.
Now, ahead of it being released on Prime Video on February 25th, 2026, it will be shown in select cinemas across the globe on February 19th, 2026.
Each screening will also include a bonus conversation between McCartney and director Morgan Neville, discussing the documentary.
Tickets are set to go on sale on February 4th at 2pm GMT and will be available here.
The documentary was first shown at the Telluride Film Festival last August, and was acquired by Amazon MGM shortly before it was first shown to audiences.
Man on the Run features archival footage from the ’70s, photographs taken by Linda McCartney, as well as interviews with Paul, Linda, Mary and Stella McCartney, a number of Wings band members. Artists including Sean Ono Lennon, Mick Jagger, and Chrissie Hynde also contribute.
In an early trailer, McCartney says in a voiceover, “The Beatles had broken up and I was thinking, ‘What do I do now?’ How could I ever do anything that’s anywhere near as good as The Beatles.”
He continued to reflect, adding, “I was on my own for the first time, I had to look inside myself. So, I put a new band together. I thought we should start from square one, so it was a puzzle that I had to unravel.”
In another trailer, he honestly confessed, “The Beatles had been my whole life, really. When we split up, I thought… I’ll never write another note of music, ever.”
Man on the Run will arrive in cinemas on February 19th before its release on Prime Video on February 25th.
