Paul McCartney announces another last-minute show in New York
Paul McCartney has announced a new show at the intimate Bowery Ballroom in New York on February 12th.
McCartney previously announced a last-minute performance at the historic New York venue on February 11th. He took to the stage at 6:30 pm local time for a 22-song set. During his concert, McCartney treated the 600-strong capacity crowd to hits such as ‘Blackbird’, ‘Get Back‘, ‘A Hard Day’s Night’, ‘Now and Then’, ‘Let It Be’, and ‘Hey Jude’.
For the February 11th show, the venue revealed that doors would open at 5:00pm local time, and the concert would get underway at 6:30pm, the same time as the upcoming February 12th performance. Tickets for both concerts were made exclusively available at the Bowery Ballroom’s box office rather than online and unexpectedly sold out within minutes of the announcement.
McCartney also shared news of the concert on his Instagram page. He has since updated the post with news of a second show at the Bowery Ballroom, with the caption reading, “First come, first served. One ticket per person. Avoid purchasing tickets from third-party vendors. Fake tickets will not be honoured and entry will be denied.”
The Bowery Ballroom have issued a new statement informing fans of McCartney to “refrain from lining up at the venue unless you have a ticket. There will be no tickets available at the door.”
They also issued a warning to those who have bought tickets from third-party retailers, stating, Tickets for this event are PHYSICAL only. If someone sends you a digital ticket, it is a fake. Signs of a fake physical ticket include spelling mistakes, missing a Ticketmaster logo or watermark, or coloring that is not blue and white.”
The Bowery Ballroom continued: “More than 1 ticket – individuals were only able to purchase 1 ticket. Be wary of anyone offering more than 1.”
Ahead of the official announcement, it had previously been speculated that McCartney was plotting a second show at the Bowery Ballroom when Max McNown’s two performances at the venue, scheduled for February 11th and 12th, were moved to the Irving Plaza.
During his set on February 11th, McCartney didn’t perform any new material and instead stuck with beloved tracks from his back catalogue. His last album, McCartney III, arrived in 2020.
