Paris Jackson denies Colman Domingo’s claims she helped with Michael Jackson biopic: “I had 0% involvement”
Michael Jackson‘s daughter, Paris Jackson, has denied Colman Domingo’s claims that she assisted on the upcoming biopic, Michael.
The movie, which has been delayed until 2026, stars the late musician’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson as ‘The King of Pop’, and Domingo as Jackson’s father, Joe Jackson. Additionally, Miles Teller plays his manager, John Branca, and Kat Graham portrays Diana Ross.
Both Domingo and Paris recently appeared at the Venice Film Festival last weekend, where she performed at the amfAR benefit gala.
Speaking to People ahead of the event, Domingo claimed that Jackson’s children, Paris and Prince, were both fully behind the project, stating, “They’re very much in support of our film.” He added, “I’m excited to be here at amfAR tonight with Paris. It feels like that’s a nice way for us to be together.”
Domingo then said that Paris was “very helpful” and labelled Prince as “a man of the film”.
Paris has since taken to Instagram Stories to deny her involvement in the forthcoming biopic. She wrote, “@kingofbingo (Colman Domingo’s Instagram handle) don’t be telling people I was helpful on the set of a movie I had 0% involvement in lol that is so weird.”
In another post, she added, “I read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my thoughts on what was dishonest/didn’t sit right with me and when they didn’t adress it I moved on with my life. Not my monkeys not my circus. God bless and god speed.”
In May, during the company’s Q4 2025 earnings call, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer said they had three-and-a-half hours of footage for the upcoming biopic, directed by Antoine Fuqua, which fuelled speculation it may be split into two movies.
While Feltheimer confirmed that the film will “likely” be released after April 1st, 2026, he promised they would be “announcing a definitive release strategy and timing” within the near future.
