Paranormal investigator suddenly dies while on tour with ‘Annabelle’ doll

Paranormal investigator Dan Rivera has died suddenly while on tour with the reportedly possessed doll Annabelle, a toy which inspired the huge blockbuster film of the same name.

Rivera was on his sold-out and infamous ‘Devils on the Run Tour,’ during which he took Annabelle to different locations to give ticketholders the opportunity to meet the doll. He was affiliated with the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR).

Rivera, who passed away aged 54, was found unresponsive in his hotel room on July 13th. After he wrapped up a show, emergency responders were called to the Gettysburg hotel to administer CPR.

His fellow investigator, Chris Gilloren, wrote online, “It’s with deep sadness that Tony, Wade, and I share the sudden passing of our close friend and partner, Dan Rivera.”

The announcement continued, “We are heartbroken and still processing this loss. Dan truly believed in sharing his experiences and educating people on the paranormal. His kindness and passion touched everyone who knew him.”

Adams County Chief Deputy Coroner commented that “his death was nothing suspicious.” They added, “The coroner’s office and the state police were called to the scene on Sunday night … he did go for an autopsy today and it’s pending.” Scott Pennewill, the coroner in question, added that the autopsy results will likely be available within 60 to 90 days.

He also added that Annabele was not present at the scene; Rivera was found alone. She may have been in the van in the parking lot at the time of the tragedy. However, he cannot officially confirm the doll’s location.

The Annabelle doll inspired the 2014 movie of the same name, after paranormal occurrences followed the strange doll around. Annabelle Wallis, Ward Horton and Brian Howe starred in the movie, which served as a prequel to the beloved horror offering The Conjuring.
