Oscars 2020: ‘Parasite’ wins Best International Feature Film

In what might have been the most predictable result from the 92nd Academy Awards, Bong Joon-ho film Parasite has claimed the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.

Edging out competition from the likes of Pain and Glory, Corpus Christi, Les Misérables and Honeyland, South Korean black comedy film Parasite has emerged victorious.

Starring the likes of Song Kang-ho, Lee Sun-kyun, Cho Yeo-jeong, Choi Woo-shik, and Park So-dam, Parasite tells the story of “a poor household who scheme to become employed by a wealthy family by infiltrating the household and posing as unrelated, highly qualified individuals.”

The film synopsis reads: “Greed and class discrimination threatens the newly formed symbiotic relationship between the wealthy Park family and the destitute Kim clan.”
