Osbourne family confirm true sum Ozzy Osbourne’s farewell show raised for charity

The Osbourne family have confirmed that Ozzy Osbourne‘s Back to the Beginning farewell show raised over $10 million for charitable causes.

The rock ‘n’ roll extravaganza took place at Villa Park in Birmingham in early July, just weeks before Osbourne sadly passed away aged 78.

For the show, a variety of legends from the rock world made time out of their busy summer schedule to come to Birmingham for Ozzy, including Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, Yungblud, Billy Corgan, Alice In Chains, Slayer, Tool, and of course, his bandmates in Black Sabbath.

The concert raised money for Cure Parkinson’s, as well as local institutions Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorn Children’s Hospice.

It was later reported, including by Back to the Beginning’s musical director Tom Morello, that it raised $190 million for charitable causes. This was later rebuffed by Sharon Osbourne, who said in an interview, “It’s just ridiculous, the different stories. I went on the internet the next morning and it was like, $140 million, $160 million. And I’m like, ‘Where does this stuff come from?’”

Now, in the first episode of The Osbournes Podcast since Ozzy’s death, she revealed, “It raised $11 (million) but with the cost, ’cause we paid the cost of bringing everybody in, everybody out, accommodation, everything. No one got paid. Nobody asked for a penny. They gave their time, their efforts, everything for free. People were just, oh God, so generous.”

In the same podcast episode, the Osbournes opened up about the outpouring of support they’ve had from both the general public, as well as revealing that both Donald Trump and King Charles had personally reached out.

Sharon said of Trump and his wife, Melania, “They have been great. And for him to take his time to do that for us, and because, do you know what? He doesn’t live in a bubble. He knows what’s going on in the streets. He knows what is going on. And I can’t say that for our Prime Minister (Keir Starmer).”

Jack then shared that King Charles was also in contact to offer his condolences before Sharon labelled him as an “amazing person”, and said, “If he did it for us, you know he does it for many, many, many people.”
