Noel Gallagher is pretty unimpressed with the new Arctic Monkeys album
Noel Gallagher has been left as baffled as most when it comes to Arctic Monkeys’ new album Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino.
Gallagher, preparing to play an intimate show at the Watford Colosseum, was asked for his opinion on the much debated new record by Radio X’s Gordon Smart. Discussing a potential concept of ‘retirement on the moon for rock stars’ as the premise for the Arctic Monkeys LP, Gallagher was asked what he thinks of the Sheffield band’s sixth studio album, to which he replied: “Do you know what? I’ve just been listening to it in the car today on the way here… And I don’t know what to make of it.”
Lacking some interest, the Radio X DJ suggested that Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino has fallen under the ‘unexpected’ category which brought a wry smile to Gallagher who swiftly answered: “No, you’d expect a few choruses. [It] hasn’t got any of them.”
