Noel Gallagher confirms preparations are complete for Oasis reunion tour: “It’s sounding huge”

Ahead of the opening night of their long-awaited reunion tour that begins on July 4th in Cardiff, Noel Gallagher has shared further information on what to expect from the first Oasis shows in 16 years.

The band are due to play 17 shows across the UK and Ireland as part of the Oasis Live ‘25 tour, and the guitarist went live on talkSPORT Breakfast on Friday morning to ramp up the anticipation while speaking to hosts Jamie O’Hara and Jason Cundy.

“We finished rehearsing last Tuesday,” Gallagher said of the preparations. “We’ve got a few days off now and it’s sounding huge, so we’re all, ‘well this is it, there’s no going back now.’”

The decision to embark on a reunion tour came as something of a welcome surprise to fans of the Manchester band, with their separation following a performance at V Festival in 2009 coming as a result of tensions boiling over between Gallagher and his younger brother and frontman, Liam.

The pair were embroiled in a public feud for many years, but have seemingly reconciled ahead of the upcoming tour, which will also see the band play a further 24 shows outside of the continent.

Gallagher also took time to address rumours that Oasis would be performing at this year’s Glastonbury Festival, which officially kicked off on Wednesday with a silent circus performance that left punters confused.

The guitarist quashed rumours that they could be one of the fabled secret sets in typically laid-back fashion, stating: “I think it’s probably best if I sit it out this year as I’ve got something going on next weekend,” while joking that he “might have a look at it on the iPlayer.”
