Noah Kahan defends Chappell Roan over “scummy, manipulative, parasitic” paparazzi incident
Noah Kahan has defended Chappell Roan after her altercation with the paparazzi at Paris Fashion Week, calling them “scummy, manipulative, parasitic.”
Roan was involved in an incident with the paparazzi after she appeared at the Alexander McQueen show in the French capital on March 8th, where she was met with paparazzi when she was trying to head to dinner.
The ‘Pink Pony Club’ singer filmed the members of the press on her phone, saying, “These are all the people who are completely disregarding all of my boundaries,” before appealing to them to stop “following” and “harassing” her.
As such, Kahan has now come to Roan’s defence on the matter, taking to his Instagram stories on March 10th to share his thoughts on paparazzi intrusion into the lives of those in the public eye.
He first posted to his Instagram Stories: “Maybe they should idk [I don’t know] leave her alone? Also those dudes saying ‘I’m a huge fan’ following her around are scalpers and are as bad as the paparazzi. Fuck em all.”
Kahan then followed this up with a video of him explaining, from his own experience, how paparazzi will seek out the locations and accommodations of famous musicians and their teams, and “trick” them into intrusive photo opportunities.
“They’re scummy, they’re manipulative, they’re parasitic – fuck ‘em. Seriously, fuck them,” the ‘Stick Season’ singer said, adding, “Don’t feel bad for them. They’re not fans, they’re just businessmen trying to use human beings for profit and for their own gains.”
Roan has not yet spoken publicly on the incident at this time, only posting on Instagram about her outfit at the McQueen show as part of Paris Fashion Week.
Despite this, she has spoken extensively in the past about her struggles to cope with fame and the invasion of privacy this has brought into her life, both from fans and from the wider media.
