Nine Inch Nails, R.E.M, Patti Smith, The Who and more auction classic setlists for charity

A host of some of the rock world’s greatest acts have today submitted setlists from classic performances for auction and it’s all for charity. The artists involved include Patti Smith, Nine Inch Nails, R.E.M, ASAP Rocky, Mitski, The Who and many more.

The auction goes live tonight and sees some classic concerts featured, including The Who’s Mexico City performance (signed by Pete Townshend), Patti Smith’s handwritten setlists, R.E.M’s 1989 Shoreline Amphitheatre show and many more. The full list can be found here.

The auction is open until May 2nd and features some quite reasonable pricing, with Smith’s handwritten items likely to fetch the most at around $127.50. This easy pickings for the keen collector among us. Organised by authors Dave Eggers, Nick Hornby, and Michael Chabon, the auction’s sales will go worthy causes Ministry of Stories and The International Congress of Youth Voices.

“We’re hoping to raise about $50,000,” said Eggers. “That will have a powerful impact on more than 150 student writers at the Ministry of Stories and writing centers worldwide.”
