Nicole Kidman reveals desire to star in ‘The White Lotus’

Nicole Kidman has revealed her next dream acting role could see her hitching up on the luxury shores of The White Lotus, as she said she would love to star in the HBO dark comedy hit.

Kidman was speaking to IndieWire at the premiere of her new movie Holland, where she stars opposite Matthew Macfadyen and Gael García Bernal as an anxious woman trying to work out if her husband is being unfaithful, as she soon collapses her picture-perfect, idyllic lifestyle.

When asked if she would consider taking a continental trip to join the series which is set at one of the opulent hotels around the world, Kidman responded: “I don’t think I’ve ever been asked. I’m a massive fan of Mike White (the show’s writer), so I would do anything he writes, because I just think he’s phenomenal. I love The White Lotus. So, there you go.”

The actor’s revelation over her latest pipe dream comes as the third series of the HBO smash once again leaves audiences pining for more. A surge in tourism in Thailand, the show’s current set location, has been experienced. A similar suit followed for its previous two series, set in Hawaii and Sicily, respectively.

For the part of the current series, the ensemble cast of wealthy holidaymakers, fronted by Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, and Jason Isaacs, have their true selves put to the test as the darker sides of their identities push to take hold. In its most recent review, Far Out said it is clear “Mike White is taking aim at current events this season like never before.”

With The White Lotus already having been renewed for a fourth season, maybe Kidman’s dreams won’t be so far-fetched.

New episodes of The White Lotus season three are released weekly on HBO and Kidman’s new film Holland will be released on March 27th.
