Nicolas Cage removed from lawsuit filed by ex-girlfriend against their son

Nicolas Cage has been removed from a legal claim filed against his son. The claim was recently filed by Cage’s ex-girlfriend, Christina Fulton, against their shared son.

In February 2025, Fulton filed a lawsuit against her 34-year-old son Weston Cage, who she had with Cage. The lawsuit accused him of assault and battery. Fulton accused him of attacking her in a “manic rage” in April 2024, stating in her suit that he left her with a concussion, neck and throat injuries, dental and abdominal trauma, and PTSD.

Weston was arrested last July and charged with two felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon after several people at a party, including his mother, were assaulted. He pleaded not guilty to both charges.

However, his father was also initially named in the lawsuit. Originally, Fulton accused the actor of negligence, claiming he knew about their son’s behaviour and did nothing to prevent it.

She claimed that Cage was aware of their son’s “long history of mental and psychological disorder” and previous alleged incidences of “violent assault and battery” She also said that he enables Weston’s behaviour by providing financial support.

When the suit was filed in February, Cage’s lawyers contested this, calling the accusations “frivolous”. His lawyers said, “Mr Cage does not control Weston’s behaviour in any manner and is not responsible for Weston’s alleged assault of his mother.”

Fulton’s claims against the actor have now been removed from the lawsuit.

Weston’s lawyers also hit back at the claim, suggesting that this was “nothing short of a money grab and call for attention”. They claimed that the suit was not surprising given what he described as Ms Fulton’s past history of litigation against family members.

However, despite the Cage family hitting back at the suit, Fulton’s action against her son is still going ahead.
