A new initiative aimed to support children charities around the world has recruited big names in music and film to create short, animated stories from deep within their imagination.
“Ten years ago the founder of Waxploitation, Jeff Antebi, had an idea to ask his favourite music artists and favourite contemporary painters to come together and collaborate on original children’s stories for a benefit project,” the foundation explains.
Now, Stories for Ways & Means boasts 29 pairings which make up a 350 page book which includes stories from the likes of includes stories from Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Devendra Banhart, Alison Mosshart, The Pixies’ Frank Black and many more.
Giving the stories an extra addition, Jeff Antebi also decided to introduce short animated films to accompany some of the tales. Taking them further yet, he asked the likes of King Krule, Danny Devito, Zach Galifianakis and more to narrate them.
