Nick Cave is hosting a new 24/7 ‘Bad Seed Teevee’ livestream on YouTube

Nick Cave has launched a new channel on YouTube called Bad Seed Teevee and it is running on a 24-hour live stream for the foreseeable future.

As millions of people remain in lockdown amid strict social distancing measures, Cave has followed a host of musicians by taking his art to the livestream platform.

“It’s 10.30 Wednesday evening, and if the world wasn’t in lockdown, I’d be onstage in Toulouse, France singing my heart out with The Bad Seeds. But I’m not,” said Cave.

He added: “I’m doing the next best thing — sitting at home watching Bad Seed TeeVee. Pure non-stop joy!”

The stream is offering 24 hour Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds videos, rare interviews, live performances, a glimpse into rehearsals, a look at Grinderman and much more.

In other Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds related news, the band have announced their rescheduled tour dates which will see the band hit the road in April 2021.

The band were forced to postpone their planned tour in support of the critically acclaimed 2019 album Ghosteen due to the current crisis.

“Together we have stepped into history and are now living inside an event unprecedented in our lifetime,” Cave wrote on his Red Hand Files website. “Every day the news provides us with dizzying information that a few weeks before would have been unthinkable.”

He added: “Slowly, we all are coming around to the realisation that we will need to lead very different lives for a while — short term, long term, who knows?”

Detailing the plans for the tour, the Bad Seeds frontman added: “I began to think about what I had done in the last three months — working with Warren [Ellis] and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, planning and mounting a massive and incredibly complex Nick Cave exhibition with the Royal Danish Library, putting together the Stranger Than Kindness book, working on an updated edition of my Collected Lyrics.”

Discussing the work put into his planned tour, Cave added: “Which, by the way, will be fucking mind-blowing if we ever get to do it!”
