Nick Cave brilliantly discusses potential Kanye West collaboration

Nick Cave has shut down the chances of a collaboration with rapper Kanye West by being hilariously blunt in his response to the bizarre question.

In a new post on his fan led forum The Red Hand Files, a Belgian supporter called Vassilis wrote to the Australian musician and asked: “Is it true that Kanye’s new album is delayed because you both took the last-minute decision to include a track you have been working on together?”

Cave’s response was beautifully to the point: “Dear Vassilis, No. Love, Nick.”

The Bad Seeds frontman has been using his new website as way to easily communicate with his fans, often tackling difficult and often emotional topics. In fact, Cave recently got into a spot of controversy for his comments against cancel culture when he said: “Cancel culture’s refusal to engage with uncomfortable ideas has an asphyxiating effect on the creative soul of a society,” writes Cave.

“Compassion is the primary experience — the heart event — out of which emerges the genius and generosity of the imagination. Creativity is an act of love that can knock up against our most foundational beliefs, and in doing so brings forth fresh ways of seeing the world. This is both the function and glory of art and ideas.

“A force that finds its meaning in the cancellation of these difficult ideas hampers the creative spirit of society and strikes at the complex and diverse nature of its culture.”

Kanye West’s album has been delayed indefinetely while he seeks out to be the next president of the United States with Donda which was set to be released on July 24th but now when and if it will be shared is unknown.
