New Order announce 2020 definitive edition of ‘Power, Corruption & Lies’
New Order have announced the new definitive edition of their seminal 1983 album Power, Corruption & Lies will arrive on October 2nd and provide a wealth of tantalising extras.
Manchester legends New Order are a favourite among music lovers and record collectors. Their unique compositions both physically and figuratively on record will continue into the new decade with this collection.
The collection will include an LP, two CDs, two bonus DVDs and a hardback book and quite possibly be the ultimate gift for any New Order fan. The album is a landmark moment for the group and these additional insights will provide hours of perusing.
The LP and one of the CDs mentioned are remasters of the record from the original analogue tapes. The Extras CD comes complete with previously unreleased writing sessions from the group’s Manchester rehearsal rooms as well as their fabled 1982 John Peel Session.
The DVD also offers some more high-quality additional content with the inclusion of two iconic performances from 1982 and 1983 at The Hacienda. Also included is Kilkenny, the 1984 Channel 4 documentary about the band. To top it off, the collection comes with a 48-page hardback book of rare photos in a Peter Saville-designed box.
New Order will also be sharing individual releases of the 4 12” vinyl singles from the subsequent years that didn’t appear on the original LP, beginning with the iconic ‘Blue Monday’, followed by ‘Confusion’, ‘Thieves Like Us’ and ‘Murder.’
The definitive edition of Power, Corruption & Lies lands on October 2nd.
