Black Label Society to pay tribute to Ozzy Osbourne on new album
Black Label Society have shared the tracklist for their latest album, which features a song in tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne.
The band is fronted by Zakk Wylde, Osbourne’s longtime guitarist and close friend. As such, as they gear up to release their new studio album, Engines of Demolition, it seems only fitting that the frontman pay tribute to his former leader.
Sharing the tracklist for the album, ‘Ozzy’s Song’ seems to be a simple tribute to the ‘Prince of Darkness’, who passed away on July 22nd last year, only three weeks after Wylde last performed alongside him at the Back to the Beginning concert.
Engines of Demolition will mark the first new music from Black Label Society since 2021, when they released their previous album Doom Crew Inc.
For those eagerly anticipating the release, three singles have already been released in the form of ‘Broken and Blind’, ‘Lord Humungus’, and ‘The Gallows’.
However, ‘Ozzy’s Song’ is set to close out the album’s main 13 tracks, marking a poignant and intentional tribute from Wylde.
The band is set to embark on a massive North American tour over the coming months, which kicks off on February 27th in San Antonio, Texas. Wylde is set to perform double duty at all of the gigs, with his tribute band Zakk Sabbath filling in the support slot.
Ever since his death last summer, Wylde has spoken profoundly of his grief at losing the Black Sabbath frontman, previously revealing that he had plans to make a new album prior to his death.
He also recalled seeing Osbourne for the last time at Back to the Beginning, saying, “Everybody and their mother were in the backstage dressing room and I just wanted to give him a break. I figured we’d see him later on – the next day or whatever. But no.”
Black Label Society’s upcoming album, Engines of Demolition, is set to be released on March 27th, 2026. It is available for pre-order now.
