Netflix unveil first look at ‘Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man’ and confirm release date
Netflix has shared the first image of Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.
The highly anticipated film, which sees the Oscar-winner return to the role of the notorious Birmingham gangster, is directed by Tom Harper and written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.
Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man is set for a limited cinematic release in theatres on March 6th, 2026, before it will be made available globally on Netflix two weeks later on March 20th.
The synopsis for Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man reads, “Birmingham, 1940. Amidst the chaos of WWII, Tommy Shelby is driven back from a self-imposed exile to face his most destructive reckoning yet.”
It ominiously continues, “With the future of the family and the country at stake, Tommy must face his own demons, and choose whether to confront his legacy, or burn it to the ground. By order of the Peaky Blinders…”
In addition to Murphy, the cast also includes Rebecca Ferguson, Sophie Rundle, Barry Keoghan, and Stephen Graham.
Earlier this week, Knight, who was speaking ahead of the release of season two of A Thousand Blows, told Reach PLC of the upcoming film, “The update is that it’s fantastic. No, I’m serious. It’s done, it’s out soon, and it is amazing.”
In addition to the film, it was announced in October that Peaky Blinders would be returning for a further two series, which will air on the BBC and Netflix.
The synopsis so far reads of the two new series, “In a new era of Steven Knight’s Peaky Blinders, the race to own Birmingham’s massive reconstruction project becomes a brutal contest of mythical dimensions. This is a city of unprecedented opportunity and danger: with the Shelby family right at its blood-soaked heart.”
