Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters and Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers are set to appear in a tribute show for the late Neil Peart of Rush.
The event is set to take place this Saturday night will serve as a benefit for brain tumour research at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after the Rush drummer tragically died from the illness earlier this year.
Peart, who had retired from drumming in 2015 after recording 19 studio albums with Rush, passed away at the start of the year aged 67 after losing his battle to brain cancer. Peart was famed for being the creative drive behind much of Rush’s prog-rock glory. The drummer became synonymous with expert musicianship and artistry and that ran through the band’s core essence.
Tickets to stream the event will cost $12.99 and will be aired on Fite.TV, it is part of the 2020 Modern Drummer Festival.
