Mumford and Sons to donate £1 to Live Trust for every ticket sold on new tour

Mumford and Sons have announced that they will donate £1 to the new grassroots music charity Live Trust for every ticket sold on their upcoming tour, which will kick off later this year.

The British folk-rock trio, made up of Marcus Mumford, Ted Dwane, and Ben Lovett, will release their fifth studio album, Rushmere, on March 28th. They will then tour the upcoming record across Europe in November and December, where their partnership with the charity will come into force during the UK leg.

Live Trust is a new charity launched to offer financial support to those working in the live music industry. During its infancy stage, it will firstly focus on supporting the grassroots sector of the industry—such as growing venues, artists, festivals, and promoters which they hope can create a healthier lifeblood for its workforce.

In addition, Mumford and Sons will also donate a further £1 for every ticket sold to the charity War Child, which supports children trapped in conflict zones.

The band’s backing of the music charity follows a string of similar support from other acts on their own tours. Sam Fender also donated £1 for every ticket sold to the Music Venue Trust on his most recent UK tour in December 2024.

Mumford and Sons’ return to the industry with Rushmere will mark their first album in seven years, after the release of Delta in 2018. The upcoming record is said to place the band back at the heart of their folkish roots, from which they have spawned previous hits including ‘Little Lion Man’ and ‘I Will Wait’.

Tickets for the band’s winter tour will go on sale on March 20th at 10am.
