Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx reveals plans to live until 100

After Mötley Crüe did not join Ozzy Osbourne for the huge Black Sabbath farewell show on July 5th, bassist Nikki Sixx posted a health update stating his health and family come before “past indulgences”.

Black Sabbath celebrated their iconic career in a final farewell show that included the likes of Metallica, Slayer, Alice In Chains, Guns N’ Roses, Tool and KoRn. When a fan asked why Mötley Crüe weren’t involved, Sixx tweeted back, “We have been having health issues within the band…”

In a new social media post, Sixx explained the importance of staying healthy, nodding to the Sabbath gig. He began, “As some of you may know, I take my health extremely seriously. I work HARD, and I’m not interested in dying from work and BS STRESS.”

After noting that he works up his bloods twice a year, he continued, “Just got back today’s newest results and considering some misadventures in the past this 66 year old pirate ship looks ready to go back to sea. I have a wonderful wife, 5 golden children and a beautiful granddaughter. Do you think any part of my past indulgences is worth destroying this beautiful life I built? Never. This is it.”

He added dramatically, “Either get your shit tighter or die a slow death crawl. We all die, some just give up sooner… I’m planning on cracking 100. That will piss off the critics.”

Mötley Crüe have recently announced a brand new singles collection, From The Beginning, which will be released on September 12th via BMG. On it, they have teamed up with country superstar Dolly Parton on a reimagined version of their hit, ‘Home Sweet Home’.

The release day also marks the first night of their ten-show residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas.
