Mötley Crüe postpone Las Vegas residency due to Vince Neil’s health problems
Mötley Crüe have postponed plans for their Las Vegas residency, which was due to begin later this month, due to singer Vince Neil requiring surgery.
The rock group were scheduled to perform an 11-night run at the Dolby Live at Park MGM which has now been pushed back towards later in the year. It was set to start on March 28th and Mötley Crüe planned to wrap up the series of dates on April 19th.
In a statement to fans, Neil explained why he is focussing on his well-being for the time being but is positive that he’ll return to give fans the show they “deserve”. However, the frontman has refrained from sharing the exact details of the surgery he requires.
The singer stated: “To all the Crüeheads who were looking forward to see us this Spring, I’m truly sorry. My health is my top priority so I can bring you the awesome shows you deserve, and I can’t wait to return to the stage. Thank you for all the well wishes that keep reaching me. Your support means more than you know.”
Meanwhile, in a shared statement, Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee and John 5, added, “Please join us in wishing Vince a speedy recovery. We are looking forward for him to get well again and to take over Vegas together in September.”
The concerts at the Dolby Live at Park MGM will now take place between September 12th and October 3rd, 2025.
Although Mötley Crüe previously signed a contract in 2014 to legally vow their then-upcoming retirement tour would be their farewell, they have continued to regularly tour. In October, when the Las Vegas residency was announced, Nikki Sixx admitted to People: “We were wrong in retiring, obviously.”
In the same interview, he also looked ahead to the set of shows, adding, “We want to just relook at our songs and [incorporate] songs that people have been asking us to play for a long time, maybe some B-tracks, some different tracks, and rethink the idea of an intimate evening with the band. We’re in the early creative process, but we just don’t want to repeat ourselves. We want to do something special for Vegas.”
