Pilot killed after Mötley Crüe singer Vince Neil’s plane crashes into Arizona airport
Mötley Crüe lead singer Vince Neil’s private jet has crashed into Scottsdale Airport in Arizona, killing the pilot and injuring three others.
The Learjet 35A, which Neil was not on board at the time of the incident, collided with a grounded jet after landing at the municipal airport on February 10th. While one of the passengers is said to be in a stable condition, two are reported to have been critically injured.
Rain Andrean, Neil’s girlfriend, is the only passenger to have been publicly named as having been on board. The pilot and two other passengers have not yet been identified.
Neil’s lawyers announced via a statement on X (formerly Twitter) that the plane was “attempting to land” when the incident took place. The statement read: “For reasons unknown at this time, the plane veered from the runway causing it to collide with a parked plane.”
It continued: “Specific details regarding the collision are not available as this is a rapidly evolving situation. Mr Neil’s thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved, and he is grateful for the critical aid of all first responders assisting today.”
A spokesperson for Scottsdale Airport confirmed that the aircraft had been arriving from Austin, Texas, and that the crash was most likely caused by gear failure during the landing. The airport has closed the runway until further notice.
Neil has not directly commented on the tragic incident himself, but a statement posted to X by the official Mötley Crüe account shared their condolences to those who were affected by the crash. “While details are still emerging, our hearts go out to the families of both the pilot who lost his life and the passengers who suffered injuries,” the statement read.
