Morrissey played “The More You Ignore Me the Closer I Get” for the first time in 15 years

On his third night of his residency on Broadway, Morrissey is managing to pull out a great mix of songs to keep the set fresh and exciting. Morrissey, who had to pull out of gig commitments in Canada last month due to a “medical emergency”, had his third night saw some of his classics being played to an appreciative crowd. For the first time in 15 years the This Charming Man singer played “The More You Ignore Me The Closer I Get”, according to Setlist.fm. Other classics to be inserted were “Girl Afraid” and “Dial a Cliche”.

Besides this exciting addition to the set last night, the rest of the set remained remind similar to the previous two including: “How Soon is Now,” “The Bullfighter Dies,” covers of Jobriath’s “Morning Starship” (from his forthcoming California Son) and The Pretenders’ “Back on the Chain Gang,” “Alma Matters,” “Jack the Ripper,” “Hairdresser on Fire,” and more.

His fourth show takes places on Tuesday 7th May, and is well worth taking a look as some tickets still remain.
