Morrissey issues new statement about his comments on Kevin Spacey & Donald Trump

Back in November, curiously while promoting his album (wonder why?), Morrissey landed himself in some hot water when he was quoted as saying some controversial things in relation to allegations made about Kevin Spacey as well as the President Donald Trump.

After a little to-ing and fro-ing of defending his position and then realigning it, Morrissey has now issued a fairly concrete statement outlining his position, as well as firmly pointing the finger at Der Speigel, whom printed the original ‘mis-quotes’.

He starts with refuting the larger claims made against him following the interview “Would I kill Donald Trump? No, never. Would I support Kevin Spacey’s private proclivities? No, never. Would I ever support abuse of children? No, never. Would I support sexual harassment? No, never. Would I support rape? No, never. Would Der Spiegel convey my views fairly? No, never. Would I ever again speak to print media? No, never.”

The statement can be read in full below (as seen on his Facebook), but we’d be interested to know if you believe him?
