Morgan Wallen walks off ‘Saturday Night Live’ before end of show and makes cryptic social media post

Country superstar Morgan Wallen was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live on March 29th. He performed two new tracks from his upcoming album, which is projected to be one of the most successful records of the year, but it has somewhat been overshadowed by his swift exit.

When the programme finished, rather than thank the cast and stay on stage for the end credits, Wallen abruptly walked off the stage, only acknowledging the episode’s host, Oscar-winner Mikey Madison.

His quick departure was followed by a social media post which suggested he didn’t enjoy his time in New York and was ready to return home. The photo consisted of a picture of his private jet with the caption, “Get me to God’s country.”

According to Variety, people close to Wallen have confirmed that nothing was meant by either his abrupt exit or the strange Instagram post. They added that he enjoyed his time on Saturday Night Live and the fast exit was merely a misunderstanding.

Fans were speculating over Wallace’s exit before his social media post even landed which only fuelled rumours of his unhappiness with Saturday Night Live further. However, his team have claimed that there was no malice intended.

Anora star Mikey Madison hosted the episode of Saturday Night Live and rose to the occasion for her debut appearance at 30 Rock. During her monologue, she celebrated the success of her Oscar-winning movie, the physical intensity of some of her previous roles, and her closeness with her twin brother.

While the episode won’t be remembered as one of the all-time greats, Madison played a number of different characters with great comedic timing, including a judge, a mobster, and a doctor.
