The legendary Monnow Valley studio, a place where Oasis, Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, and Manic Street Preachers all recorded, is up for sale.
The studio, located near Monmouth in Wales, is now up for sale. Beginning its life as a rehearsal space for Rockfield studio which is nearby. Rockfield has the claim to fame of being the place Queen recorded ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ in 1975.
Monnow Valley is most well known for the setting of Oasis’ legendary ‘Supersonic’ which sees the band pose in one of the studio’s many rooms.
The BBC reports that Rockfield Studio was set up in the sixties by the Ward brothers, Christian and Kingsley. Monnow Valley was the rehearsal space for Rockfield until Charles Ward decided to take Monnow Valley out on its own in the eighties. Monnow Valley has operated as an independent studio ever since.
Other artists who have recorded there over the years include Tom Jones and the Stereophonics.
