Moby has said Morrissey has turned into a “weird drunk uncle” following a series of controversial comments made by the former frontman of The Smiths.
Not shy to hold back his sometimes bizarre opinions, Morrissey recently put together an explosive interview in which he called Hitler left wing and said London mayor Sadiq Kahn “cannot talk properly” when discussing knife crime in UK’s capital.
When asked about Morrissey, Moby has some comical thoughts: “This reminds me of a Chris Rock skit, where he’s talking about a weird drunk uncle,” he told The Telegraph. “Everyone in the family is like, ‘OK… we love him but he’s gonna do something weird. Just stay away’.”
“I don’t know Morrissey. I liked The Smiths, I like some of his solo records, I appreciate that he’s a vegan… but I kind of wish he would not say weird, racist things,” he added.
In a recent interview via his new website Morrissey Central, the 58-year-old discussed his views on racism and the epidemic of violent crime breaking out in London, he began: “As far as racism goes, the modern Loony Left seem to forget that Hitler was Left wing,” said.
“But of course, we are all called racist now, and the word is actually meaningless,” he added.
“It’s just a way of changing the subject. When someone calls you racist, what they are saying is ‘hmm, you actually have a point, and I don’t know how to answer it, so perhaps if I distract you by calling you a bigot we’ll both forget how enlightened your comment was’.”
Moving on to the discussion about crime in London, Morrissey could not hold back in his bizarre criticism for London Mayor Sadiq Khan: “London is debased,” replied Morrissey when asked about the capital. “The Mayor of London tells us about ”Neighborhood policin ” – what is ‘policin’? He tells us London is an ”amazin ” city. What is ‘amazin’? This is the Mayor of London! And he cannot talk properly! I saw an interview where he was discussing mental health, and he repeatedly said ”men’el ” … he could not say the words ‘mental health’. The Mayor of London! Civilisation is over!
“What this means is that the perpetrator is considered to be as much of a victim as the actual victim. We live in the Age of Atrocity.”
