Mitski‘s new concert film is set for release on October 22nd, and now, a new live album has been surprise released on Bandcamp.

The Land: The Live Album is out now via Dead Oceans, and the digital version is exclusively available on Bandcamp, for a limited time only. Mitski had made no mention of this album before the surprise release online.

In fact, all of Mitski’s digital catalog, including The Land: The Live Album, is name your price on Bandcamp until October 19th. All proceeds raised from this initiative will be donated to Direct Relief, a charity that attempts to expand access to healthcare and medicine in the US and internationally by equipping doctors and nurses with medical resources

For the concert film, Mitski performed alongside a seven-piece band with choreography by Monica Mirabile and stage design from Andi Watson. The Land is also directed by Grant James and mixed by her long-standing producer, Patrick Hyland.

The film, which was filmed over three nights at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre in September 2024, will arrive in theatres for a limited time from October 22nd, 2025. The film will play in 630 cinemas across 30 countries for a limited time. The initial show was in support of her most recent album, 2023’s The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We.

Far Out wrote in a four-and-a-half star review of the album: “In just 11 songs and a duration that barely surpasses half an hour, Mitski delves into the unavoidable destruction and difficulty of love, whether it be love of the world, the self or others. The record harms and heals in equal measure, flitting between Mitski’s internal monologue and external self-reflection, with highly concentrated emotion infusing every line and every instrumental swell.”
