Founder Michael Eavis confirms when next Glastonbury Festival headliner will be announced
Legendary festival organiser, Micahel Eavis, has confirmed when the next Glastonbury Festival 2020 headliner will finally be announced for the special 50th-anniversary edition.
Eavis was speaking to students at Somerset’s Warminster School where he was dutifully quizzed about the possible line-up for the upcoming edition.
After much toing and froing, Eavis relented, at least a little, as he confirmed that Sunday’s headliner will be announced next year and he also revealed it’s “going to be big news.” With previous rumours of Oasis and Fleetwood Mac pleasing fans the most, we’ve got our fingers crossed for a massive name.
He said: “The top headliner for the Sunday night is going to be announced on the 15th of January. That’s going to be big news, yeah…I’m absolutely thrilled about it.”
Whoever it is they have a lot to live up to as last year’s Sunday headliners saw The Cure give an outstanding near-2-hour performance. Watch it below.
