Mica Levi, also known by her stage name Micachu, is collaborating with Alejandro Landes and has score the upcoming film Monos.
Having branched out into film composing back in 2014, Levi’s stock has grown to international levels. Her debut work with Jonathan Glazer film Under the Skin earned her the prestigious European Film Award for Best Composer which was quickly followed by a nomination for BAFTA Award for Best Film Music.
Building on that success, her score for the heavily praised Pablo Larraín film Jackie saw Levi claim an Oscar nomination for Best Original Score, narrowly losing out to Justin Hurwitz of La La Land.
Now, working alongside Landes for his third feature film, Levi produced the score. The film, including the likes of Julianne Nicholson, Moisés Arias, Julian Giraldo, Sofía Buenaventura, is scheduled to screen this winter at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.
With Alexis Dos Santos joining Landes on the scriptwriting duties, the film description reads: “On a faraway mountaintop, eight kids with guns watch over a hostage and a conscripted milk cow.”
