Meltdown 2026: Watch Harry Styles perform stirring cover of ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’
As part of his show at Meltdown Festival, Harry Styles has delivered a stirring cover of the Simon and Garfunkel classic ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’.
The pop superstar took to the stage in front of an intimate audience at the Royal Festival Hall in London on June 16th, performing many of his most famous stripped-back hits while accompanied by the Jules Buckley Orchestra.
Styles is currently undertaking his duties as the curator of this year’s Meltdown Festival, honouring the Southbank Centre in its special 75th anniversary celebrations.
For the part of the Simon and Garfunkel cover, though, it displayed an incredible, stirring vocal power from the ‘Aperture’ singer that is bound to impress both his fanbase and lovers of the classic folk duo.
However, the cover is hardly surprising since Styles has spoken openly about just how much Simon and Garfunkel have influenced his latest album, Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally.
The closing track, ‘Carla’s Song’, opens with a reference of “There is a bridge that leads to troubled water”, while songs like ‘Dance No More’ also feature lyrical references to the iconic pair.
He will also be used to hearing ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ regularly at the moment, as Elvis Presley’s cover of the classic tune is the final song to feature on the pre-show playlist of his current Together Together tour.
Styles is being kept busy in this respect, as on top of his Meltdown curator stint, he still has ten shows left of his record-breaking 12-night residency at Wembley Stadium, with his next gig set to take place on June 17th.
Meanwhile, proceedings at Meltdown Festival are also continuing from now until June 21st, with performances still to come from the likes of Orlando Weeks and Berverley Glenn-Copeland with Elizabeth Copeland.
