Massive Attack are taking their Mezzanine anniversary celebrations to a whole new level with the release of their own user-generated version of the album.

It means that fans can download the new ‘Fantom 2.0 music app’ which will allow fans to remix and play around with the songs, creating their very own version of the record.

According to the band’s label, the app “creates dynamic procedural mixes that can be shared across multiple platforms,” to give fans a more personal feel.

The work has been co-designed by Robert Del Naja and it “triggers new mix patches using the stems of classic tracks such as ‘Teardrop’, ‘Angel’ and ‘Inertia Creeps’ using iPhone sensor functions such as camera, microphone, acceleration and location for sampling, recording and unique playback.”
