Massive Attack and Brian Eno lead call for Live Nation to exit Israel

Massive Attack and Brian Eno are at the forefront of a group of hundreds of musicians calling for Live Nation to drop their operations in Israel amid the ongoing conflict.

The artists are amongst a group of over 600 global musicians and music workers who have signed an open letter as part of the Musicians for Palestine campaign, which urges Live Nation Entertainment to “uphold all the authoritative demands of Palestinians, by dropping Live Nation Israel.”

The letter also states: “As the artists and workers that power the industry, we support principled initiatives that demand dignified pay for all, respect for local scenes and the end of corporate monopolisation.”

It goes on to add, “We cannot stay silent while Live Nation Israel glorifies the genocidal Israeli military that has killed more than 70,000 Palestinians in Gaza. We echo long-standing Palestinian calls for accountability over its years of artwashing of Israeli apartheid and now genocide.”

After calling for a shared vision of “a more just and peaceful world,” the letter also reads, “We know that true solidarity starts with confronting complicity. Parts of our industry have too often failed to stand up for Palestinian liberation.”

Eno’s commitment to expressing solidarity with Palestine has seen him organise the Together for Palestine charity concert in London this September, and also feature on the new Together for Palestine charity single, ‘Lullaby’, which is a strong contender for Christmas number one on the Official Charts in the UK.

Additionally, artists have used their platform to increasingly express solidarity with Palestine by joining the No Music For Genocide, which geo-blocks their music from online access in Israel. The likes of Björk, Paramore, Wolf Alice, and Clairo are partaking in this boycott.

Recently, Ireland, Spain, the Netherlands, and Slovenia have all announced that they will not be taking part at Eurovision in 2026 after it was announced that Israel was granted permission to compete.
